Focused Care
Focused Care is a specialized program of treatment tailored to address the disease specific symptoms and needs of patients. Our Focused Care staff includes Advance Practice nurses and Respiratory Therapists. These specialists work closely with the primary physician to closely monitor and quickly address new symptoms, helping patients avoid unnecessary hospitalizations and emergency room visits.
Focused Care provides:
- Close monitoring of side effects related to chemo or radiation therapy, cardiac exacerbations and pulmonary disease management
- Support for families and caregivers through education and evaluation of cardiac, pulmonary and oncology symptom management needs
Open Access
Hospice of Dayton is committed to Open Access which means we accept all eligible patients, regardless of the complexity of their needs, including patients who are receiving palliative chemo and/or radiation therapy; dialysis (when unrelated to hospice diagnosis); nutrition by feeding tube; breathing assistance devices (CPAP/BiPAP); intravenous medications; Tracheotomy; blood transfusions; Total Parenteral Nutrition.
